Quadruple Your Email Open Rates With These 4 Subject Line Strategies

Quadruple Your Email Open Rates With These 4 Subject Line Strategies

Whether you have an online business or a brick and mortar business, email marketing is a very important part of your marketing strategy.

If you’ve been working diligently to create and grow your email list, crafted compelling messages or newsletter and aren’t seeing the kind of open rates you’d like, it’s time to focus on your subject line.

According to Campaign Monitor, the average email open rate is 17.8% meaning, 82.2% of people aren’t opening up your emails. For all of the effort you’ve put in growing your list, having less than 20% of people opening and reading it can be disheartening.

I reached out to professional copywriter, Sara Anna Powers, whose clients have quadrupled their email open rates, to ask her how we can create better subject headlines for our emails. She’s mastered the art of writing irresistible emails and getting people to actually open them with a compelling subject line.

Quadruple Your Email Open Rates With These 4 Subject Line Strategies | Stephanie Burns

Sara Anna gave me her four tips for quadrupling email open rates:

1. Leverage Curiosity

“Using a curiosity-based subject-line should be your go-to for increasing email open rates. Case in point? The nail-biting cliff-hangers that end each episode of the most popular TV shows. TV executives know that when they create open loops in a story line, our psychological need to have a resolution to a problem will prompt us to tune in, week after week.

It’s the same when you’re writing your emails,” says Powers. “Using a curiosity-based subject line will make it nearly impossible for your readers to scroll past without opening your message. So how can you create these types of subject lines that can dramatically uplevel your open rates?

Think about what your audience is desperate to know, and tease it in your subject line. A few great examples are ‘This ONE thing doubled my income last year’ or ‘The exact strategy that 10X’d our sales last month.’”

2. Use Numbers

“Numbers tell a story when you know how to read them, and using a number in your subject line is a nearly-guaranteed way to get your reader to open your message.

One of my most successful subject lines ever was simply, ‘$48,328.11.’ The email I sent was about the exact amount of money I invested into my business before I began turning a profit.

Using the number on its own as my subject line was so intriguing that people couldn’t resist taking a peek at the message. Then I quickly gave them the payoff: the story of how investing in my business, while it felt scary at first, over time grew into a revenue-generating system that allowed me to fully exit my law practice. This both built connection with my audience and gave them hope that they, too, could turn their passion into profit with the right guidance,” tells Powers.

Not only did Powers use numbers here, but she combined it with the first point, curiosity. A very compelling subject line indeed.

3. Nod To The Negative

“Ever run into those people who just want to talk about the negative?” Powers asks. “They’re in your audience, too! And while it may feel counterintuitive to craft a negative-sounding subject line, it’s often exactly what’s needed to increase your open rates.

My clients and I have seen a major uptick in open rates with subject lines like: ‘Don’t do this if you want to make a sale!’ and “’Why getting more clients WON’T fix your business.’”

You certainly don’t want to be negative all the time, but this point shows that when used strategically, it can really make a difference in your open rates.

4. Shock Your Readers

“When I was a little girl, I’d get so excited for my grandparents to come visit us because I knew that would mean a stack of tabloids on the nightstand. I was enthralled with the crazy headlines. Things like, ‘Alien baby saves underwater nation’ or ‘Four-headed man weds quadruplets.’” says Powers.

“There’s no denying that shocking headlines prompt people to open your messages, if only to find out what’s really going on in your world.

The key here is to give your audience the payoff in the first line or two of your email. For example, you could try the subject line, ‘I’m getting a divorce!’ and then state in the opening sentence of your email that you’ve getting a divorce from over committing, clients who take you for granted, and activities that don’t bring you joy. Use shock sparingly, and it will pay major dividends in your open rates.”

Shift your focus away from simply growing your list, to growing the engagement of the list you already have by creating compelling subject lines. It’s more fun and will ultimately pay off in the long run.

18 Home Business Secrets You Must Know For a 150% Sure-Fire Success!

18 Home Business Secrets You Must Know For a 150% Sure-Fire Success!

Making a Successful Business is Not Luck, It's a Science!

Before you invest your energy, time and money; review these 18 home business secrets to help you avoid the common mistakes and nightmares!  Making money in a home business takes more than luck, there is a science behind it.

Make the best choices before launching your business. You will remember some of these for the rest of your home business career.

“Money can be made in the home business world, and lots of it! In

fact unlimited! But all the successful home business entrepreneurs and internet marketers know that it’s not magic. It requires knowing your “skill set” like any other business.”

Using this checklist will increase your earning potential 150% !

1. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES concentrate on programs or products that need to be purchased monthly!

Think of a product that most people need to replace, re-use or purchase on a monthly basis. There are many great products and services to promote in a home business and on the internet. You can earn big commissions to sell them. HOWEVER, would it be better to make a $39 profit just one time, or a $10 profit over and over again indefinitely?
“It has been well said, that when you sell a product that pays once, you are making money that benefits the company more than yourself. But, if you sell a product over and over again, month after month you are making income that is going to benefit you.”
When you sell a product that people will purchase month after month, you actually only have to make one sale and reap the benefits over and over again.

2. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES know that there is no such thing as a free business!

Despite all the hogwash you read about making $1 million and never spending a dime, time or work; ladies and gentlemen, it might happen once in 5,000,000 years! But don’t hold your breath!
It’s always going to take some money to make money on the internet or with a home business. The good thing is it takes a whole lot less to start a work-from-home business.
Also, even though you can join almost any internet or home business program FREE; realize it only gets you in the door; and without benefits to actually make a financial profit that gets you on a much faster track to success. Normally, a home-based business will have a “fast-track” promoters package and tools for you to have the fastest way to making a profit.
But the Fast Track is not included in most “get in the door” basic packages. So you can start on the least expensive package which will be the slow track or the “I mean business” fast track package which is designed for you to really make money.
The internet world is so jam packed with opportunities, if you look around you can find most of the components that you would need for a successful business. But it takes some work. You have to know WHERE to look, WHAT to look for and HOW to put it together. Often times than not, the learning curve can be very involved.
“Don’t be fooled, whatever you do will require some investment, either in time or money. The good thing is, if you’re accomplishing your goals; work seems like playing!”

3. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES know NOT to put all their investments in one “boat.”

The best home businesses entreprenurs will diversify their businesses. Getting involved in a program or selling a product with multiple sources of income is what you want to have! If your business has more avenues of income, it will be more stable and you will be less likely to go under.
Can you imagine if you invested all your time and effort in a program and after one year it disappears! But if you learn the proper way to diversify your investments, then you may only lose one arm of your business instead of the whole thing!
Considering the condition of the economy; where would it be better to place your 10 gold nuggets?
Would you put your 10 gold nuggets in one bank or would you put them in three different banks? The answer is obvious. Three banks would be the best prevention from being wiped out financially all at one time.

4. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES take advantage of multilevel marketing!

Multilevel marketing, network marketing and what we have often called “pyramid schemes” have given home businesses a bad rap. Really, multilevel and network marketing is a concept that happens in almost every business and social organization in existence.
It’s not the system that’s wrong. It’s the people that have used a perfectly good business tool to use in a wrong way.
It’s like saying that cars are a “scam” because people are using them to transport and hide drugs as they come across the border. Does that make cars bad? Of course not.
Neither is there anything wrong with multilevel marketing and network marketing. It actually is very powerful and gives a team of people the ability to make more money in a shorter period of time while enjoying more freedom to control thier financial future.

5. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES understand the difference between selling and marketing.

One of the biggest mistakes many home business and internet business owners make is not knowing the difference between selling and marketing. Most home business owners look for something interesting to sell, or something they like to sell and hope for the best.
However, an “internet marketer” evaluates the market and determines what products are the best selling products with the most profitable gain. their objective is to find what’s hot and what’s not.
There is nothing wrong with taking into consideration what you have a passion for or a gift for marketing; however, don’t get stuck on preferences for what you want to promote. Most successful home businesses have learned to find these hot products and market them as long as they remain hot.
For some of us that’s real hard to do because we become passionate for what we support. That is a good thing! You just need to determine whether your decisions are product or passion decisions.

6.THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES do programs that work!

Now, that sounds like common sense; however, many new business owners concentrate on programs because it’s comfortable for them. They liked them. It was the first one they learned. It’s easy to do. Easy to understand. They had enough success to make them feel good.
Many small-business owners never experience much success because they get stuck with what is comfortable.
However, your business should work well enough to produce the success that you desire and solve the problem that benefits your community.

7. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES know that you can’t do it all by yourself!

Working alone is somewhat of a mirage. Sure, being your own boss is what home businesses and internet businesses are all about.
Everybody wants to be their own boss. Everybody’s tired of the 9-to-5 job. But even when you’re your own boss, the home business man/woman realizes that they will have to outsource, some of their work, or do joint ventures with others, and sometimes team up with others to make their business run efficiently and successfully.

One obstacle that you will eventually face is trying to do a project that you don’t have a skill for or just hate to do.

“That’s when you need to outsource your project. A great place to go when you need to outsource is http://www.ELance.com . You can hire someone at a reasonable price for any project that you can’t do or don’t want to do yourself.”

8. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES build quality into their product.

There are many businesses that have great marketing plans and vision but don’t necessarily have a quality product.
They may even make a lot of sales but because the product isn’t as good as the marketing, there is a lot of dissatisfaction.
If you are a promoter of a product that does not deliver the goods” it will have a lot of adverse effects in the short-term and long-term of your business.
“It is hard to be passionate and promote something that you don’t think is of good quality. It will determine How committed you will be to your success and home business.”

9. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES have promoters that have integrity

If you are a promoter or distributor of a home business in which has deceptive sales practices, distributes dishonest information or is using other unethical practices; it doesn’t matter whether the company is making millionaires, the end result is not going to be good.
It is not the type of company that you would want your mom to be proud of. It also makes it difficult to sleep at night!

10. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES have leadership that have a solid foundation.

If your home business has a product that you are selling as an affiliate; the leadership of that company needs to have several foundational pillars.
Every consumer wants to buy a product that has quality. If it is a tangible product; the company needs enough financial stability to produce a quality product that the consumer wants to have.
Secondly, a good business will have a good foundational training program for their promoters.
Thirdly, a good business will have up-to-date technology which is important in today’s modern world. Especially with today’s social networking, Facebook, twitter, cell phone apps and many of the other well-known social networking tools.
A good leadership will make sure these leadership qualities are part of their organization.

11. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES provides a product that compels not only the purchaser to be a promoter but also the promoter to be a purchaser.

This is actually a very important secret that a good business should have, but is not necessarily required.
Why?
“Because, if a product is really that VERSATILE, then it should not only be desired by the consumer, but even the promoter as well. If a promoter is interested in his own product, it will be that much easier to promote.”
Also, if the consumer is so impressed with the purchase of the product, they will often become promoters as well.
If you can find a product like this and it is a quality product; then you have probably FOUND A WINNER !
On the practical side; if promoters are compelled or even in some businesses required to consume their own product, they become more knowledgeable of their products.
When the promoters and consumers are using the product, more sales are made and everyone is benefiting because more money is being exchanged, more product is being used, and everyone is happy.
This generates much more income for the promoters and the consumers.
The reason why a high percentage of home businesses fail is because it’s not easy or fun to try and promote something that you’re not excited about yourself!
Ideally, if you are compelled to use your own products, every promoter also becomes a customer.

12. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES provide opportunities for the average promoter to make an income that gives them the freedom they’re looking for.

So many home businesses and internet businesses do not really deliver the freedom that people are looking for. We are talking about finances as well as the freedom to have time to do more than just work.
If it does not provide the financial freedom and the freedom of time for the average promoter, it’s not a winner.

13. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES have products that are desirable for a large segment of the community.

“Which products do you think are easier to promote; toilet paper, cups, forks & spoons, water and food or do you think it’s easier to promote purple toilets, alkaline water machine ($2000 cost), metal chopsticks, etc.”
Really, it’s not always about whether a product is good for you or not. It’s about whether it’s desirable by the consumer. Does the consumer want it? And is the consumer willing to pay the price? Sometimes the consumer wants it desperately, but not desperate enough to pay the price?
Some companies have a extremely good quality product but the price is so undesirable that the average consumer is not willing to purchase.
Know your consumer and how much they’re willing to pay..

14. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES have incentives and rewards that compel the promoters to reach higher goals

If you are promoting affiliate products in your home business that provide incentives and rewards that compel you to move more product you probably have found an exceptional company that has learned how to reward its promoters.
A good quality program will have built-in reward systems.

15. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES are programs that genuinely care for consumers and promoters alike.

It should be clearly evident in the marketing and the product that both the consumers and promoters are genuinely cared for.

16. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES have to have a compensation plan that rewards.

Make sure that the compensation plan is reasonably attainable. Don’t spend one year of your life working a home business to find out that the amount of money you want to make is not even remotely possible. Count the cost before you start.

17. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES realize their promoters have to be business developers and not recruiters.

What do we mean by that?
Most home-based business entrepreneurs try to be recruiters instead of looking at being a business developer.
When you have a recruiter mindset you are always looking for someone that will buy something from you.
But when you have a business developer mindset you look for people you can help. When people see that you really want to help them they are more willing to join you in your journey.

18. THE BEST HOME BUSINESSES will have training that resembles mentorship.

In other words; whatever training that is required for your home-based business, make sure that you can follow a mentor who has already traveled a successful road.
Follow a model that has proven successful. There are various ways of finding a mentor. Don’t look just for book mentoring but in a person that you can work with. And you can follow. Teamwork!

Don’t try to reinvent the wheel if you only need the keys to the car to take you where you need to go!

Most, if not all of these secrets are required to be in a successful home business. However it is not an all inclusive list. If you use this list as a guideline for making money with your business or to search for a successful home business, you are starting on the right track!
If you would like a business model that incorporates all these in one business; YOU CAN DO THAT HERE

4 Strategies to Make Your Sales Funnels Convert in 2020

4 Strategies to Make Your Sales Funnels Convert in 2020

7 min read
Opinions expressed by Entrepreneur contributors are their own.
As an entrepreneur trying to stay relevant and thrive in the competitive digital age, there’s one marketing strategy you’ve likely heard holds the secret to growing your business online: sales funnels. You’ve seen the ads, read the blogs, watched the tutorials and tried your hand at implementing sales funnels in your own business. But for some reason, you haven’t hit the jackpot. Scaling your business through sales funnels still feels like rocket science —and something is definitely broken. You know funnels have the ability to bring in customers for your business on autopilot and turn your customers into loyal repeat buyers, but how do you make your sales funnels stand out and actually grow your bottom line? Here are four proven strategies and pieces of actionable advice you can implement immediately to help turn your sales funnels into predictable, profitable client acquisition systems.

Offer something valuable in the first step of your funnel

Years ago, we had category kings — industry leaders who dominated their markets and had little to no competition. Thus, business owners didn’t have to necessarily try so hard to win new customers. Now, it’s not that easy. Due to ever-growing competition, online brands and entrepreneurs have to put a lot more effort into winning customers online and demonstrating why someone should choose them over a competitor. One of the most effective ways to do this is to offer new customers something at the very beginning of your funnel that is no-cost, yet highly valuable. It should be something that helps your ideal customer build trust with your brand before ever pulling out their wallet. Some options: a free case study, a mini training series, a checklist, a guide, an e-book or a demo of your product. If you can solve a small part of your ideal customer’s problem through it, that’s even better. In a phone conversation with Gusten Sun, founder and CEO of Funnels And Experts, he explained how his agency builds clients’ funnels using this exact strategy of providing value first. “To give you a practical example… let’s say you’re a movie buff, but you want to stop spending so much money at the theaters,” he says. “You do a quick Google search and find an online movie streaming service that offers a free 30-day trial. You sign up, watch movies for free for a month and afterward they ask you if you want to continue watching unlimited movies from the comfort of your home. You say yes and pay. That’s an example of a successful funnel, and that’s the concept of providing value first in order to build relationships and turn browsers into customers…Oh, and you may have guessed: That’s the sales funnel of Netflix.” Related: 5 Key Tips to Improve Conversion Rates Make sure your funnel leads with value and gives something free before you make an offer. Creating a sales funnel in this order will make it much easier to turn a cold lead into a happy customer.

Swap outdated sales copy tactics for authentic emotional response marketing

As a business owner, you know your target customer needs to feel like your brand is speaking directly to them. Copywriting is how you do that, but effective copywriting has made a massive shift in the last decade. The modern customer is tired of pushy headlines and in-your-face copy that screams BUY. If you look at old sales funnels, you will see this type of copy heavily used. It worked back then, but not anymore. The only way to make your sales funnel copy work in 2020 is to be authentic, honest and real. You want your copy to sound more conversational and less “car salesman”. This is the type of copy that speaks to the modern day consumer. Cody Griffin, CEO of Griffin Copywriting and Marketing Solutions, expanded on this shift to me. “This is why an increasing number of successful brands are moving away from direct response copy tactics to what industry experts are calling emotional response marketing,” he says. “Your funnel doesn’t have to be complicated, but what most marketers fail to do in their copy is meet their market at their current level. It’s vital to relate to where your client or customer is now versus where they want to be and how your product or service will help get them there. Doing so will result in more conversions, more sales and success with your funnel.” Stories build deeper emotional connection and responses with your audience. Think less about clicks and more about feelings. Your funnel’s overall performance will skyrocket.

Set up retargeting campaigns

In an ideal world, every person that visits your funnel’s landing page opts in and makes their way to the very end of your funnel where they make a purchase. Unfortunately, it rarely works that way. If you want your sales funnels to convert, put strategic retargeting campaigns in place. These can be a series of either ads or emails (or both) that get sent to people who land on the first page of your funnel but don’t take the action you want them to (download your lead magnet, watch your video, opt in to your webinar, etc.). The secret to making retargeting campaigns works is making sure they are full of valuable content such as educational videos, inspiring stories, objection handling topics, bonus training, product reviews, customer case studies and testimonials. Every piece of content a prospect sees after they’ve left your sales funnel should show them why they should reconsider your offer and why they can trust you and your brand.

Don’t limit your traffic to one source

It’s no secret that using social media as sources of traffic can be one of the most profitable ways to drive customers to your sales funnels. However, most businesses make the mistake of focusing their traffic efforts on just one platform. This leads to chaos and panic within your company when the social platform of your choosing crashes for one day. Don’t put all your eggs in one basket. Social media platforms have the power to control your ability to use their sites for running ads and driving traffic, so invest your resources into getting multiple streams of traffic set up. Though using social media platforms to drive traffic is arguably one of the best strategies, don’t overlook the power of content marketing in 2020. Utilizing emails, blog content, SEO, case studies, etc. is and will be more effective at driving traffic to your funnel than social media alone. In an email conversation with Cindy Pate, CEO of Manifestation Rebel, she explained this well. “Old stars still shine,” she says. “To drive quality traffic to your funnels, don’t make the mistake of underestimating good old-fashioned email marketing. Emails are still as profitable as ever and will always be a secret sales weapon when used correctly in addition to your social media platforms. Sending traffic to your funnel via organic blog posts, SEO and podcasts are also among the highest-converting forms of content marketing you should be implementing in your funnel strategy today.” Bottom line: There are traffic sources beyond social media. The value is in the real assets that are gained from a sales funnel including the telephone numbers and email addresses that you store in our own systems outside of social networks. Don’t limit your funnel traffic to one source unless you want your sales to be completely reliant on one platform. Take these four sales funnel strategies and implement them into your own funnels in 2020 to stand out, increase your conversions and create a hyper profitable client acquisition system.

How to Use Hits-Connect and Clickbank Tracking with Secrets of the Big Dogs to Triple Your Sales!

How to Use Hits-Connect and Clickbank Tracking with Secrets of the Big Dogs to Triple Your Sales!

Track Your E-Mail/Affiliate Ads More Accurately!

I want to share with you how I have been tracking my ads more accurately using Hits-Connect and Clickbank!

I used to only use my tracking software (like Hits Connect) but now I also
use Clickbank tracking with it.

Of course, this can only be used with information products from Clickbank.

It is a little more involved but the benefit is worth it.

Know Directly Where your Sale was Made

Perhaps you didn’t know you can further track your ad through your
Clickbank URL (by placing an ID on the end of the URL).

This  tracking strategy allows you to know directly where your sale was
made; from a mailer, banner, login ad, or any other kind of ad (it all
depends on which kind of ads you want to track).  You can also track
which ad produced the sale and what the subject line was if you want.

[if you are a complete newbie, I don’t recommend you get involved with
this yet.  Just file this and when you start making regular sales, take it
out of your file and use it for your benefit.  In fact, if you’re not yet
making any sales, you should also file this for later].

Three Easy Steps!

Here is how it works:

1.  Keep a FILE of the ads you write.  Include the subject line, hits
results: (I designate them, GOOD, BAD or SO-SO), number of sales,
month and week.

2.  Instead of making a Hits Connect tracker URL for every chip,  make
one tracker for all your big dog chips (for other mailers I made a separate
URL tracker even though you advertise big dogs with them) .  So when you go
to your mailers,  just add a four letter code to the end of each one that
represents that particular mailer.

This is an example:
http://www.trker.com/go/000000 at the end add a code like this;

/HERC10FSL

/HERC10FSL = (HERC) HercuList, (10) 10th month of the year, (FSL = Family
Still Laughing) first letter of the first three words in this subject line example.

Example 2:

/MIST10FSL

/MIST10FSL = (MIST) Mister Safelist, (10) 10th month of the year, (FSL)
first letter of the first three words in your subject line.

3.  Then for your destination URL (big dogs sale page) you can add a code
to your Clickbank URL which you save in your Hits Connect trackers.  For
each TYPE (bdchip mailer, login, solo, Etc) of ad you want to track you
would place your code at the end.

Example:

http://YOURCLICKBANKID.bigdogs.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=0102_oct_2019_bdchip

Below is an example of the codes I use at the end of my Clickbank URL:

0101_oct_2019_domain (is my website)
0101_oct_2019_bdchip (is big dog chip)
0101_oct_2019_login (is my login ads)
0101_oct_2019_solo (solo ads)
0101_oct_2019_ncsm (non-chip safelist mailer)

———–
Complete URL example:
http://www.trker.com/go/000000/0102_oct_2019_solo

With the code above, all your solo ads will be tracked.  01 = the first week of the
month, 02 = the second subject line I’ve used this week for the example ad.
October 2019 is self explanatory.  And solo represents my solo ads because
I put them all on the same Hits Connect tracker.

It’s not really that complicated; but if you have questions, feel free to send me a
message.  Also; below is a link to Clickbank were you can learn more about using
their Clickbank Analytics Reporting:

I hope this helps with your tracking and have a great day!

PS-enjoy the journey!
